-Phil Murphy encouraged Rotarians to Register for the June 5-7 District Conference HERE to be held at the Hilton in Ft. Collins. The district conference is an opportunity for fellowship, to share ideas and bring ideas back to our club. When you register, sign up to attend the free Hospitality Dinner on Friday evening June 5. If you would like to host Rotarians at your home for dinner, contact Bob Melrose.
-Joseph Vander Linde has recognized he sees an overlap between Rotary and Toastmasters. He will be co-presenting with Joe McCarthy at the conference, and their session will be on Toastmasters and Rotary. It will be shared with a Shelter box presentation by Michael Howe. All interested are welcome to join and learn more. 
-Becky de la Torre invited Rotarians to attend the Cinco De Mayo fundraiser for Mujeres de Colores on May 8 at Club Tico,1599 City Park Dr. Buy your tickets HERE that include food, beverages, music and celebrating the vibrant spirit of Mexican culture. 
-Connie Sheltren announced our exchange student arriving this summer will be Elia Olivievi, from Verona, Italy.
-John Shelton encouraged every Rotarian to donate at least $25 to the Rotary Foundation general fund so our club can achieve “Every Rotarian Every Year” status. Our club’s $8,802 donations to Polio Plus do not count toward this achievement.
-Bob Melrose and Tom Strause attended PELS = President Elect Learning Seminar for 2.5 days and learned how to organize Rotary meetings, events and collaborate with other clubs to share speaker programs and fundraising ideas

Good News:
-Steve Fowler is proud of his eldest daughter, Hanna - a single mother living in Ohio who works with homeless individuals. She is his personal hero.
JJ Shaw is going to be happy if he can sell the extra beer from the $10k Raffle at $10 per 6-pak and not have to carry the beer back to his car.
Morgan Merriman is proud of his wife’s successful business. Irene is a licensed esthetician and permanent makeup artist and founder of I’s Brows and Esthetics and mother of 2 children working out of their home in Timnath.

Dan St. John introduced Centennial High School principal, Stephanie Lock who introduced the student of the Month, Alicia Sandlian. Alicia is a very determined and focused 11th grader with great attendance who is always helpful, kind and a great friend

Teacher of the Month:
Dan St. John introduced Chris Savage from Fossil Ridge High School who introduced the Teacher of the Month, Kristyn Degi. Ms. Degi teaches science and is an advisor of leadership who brings students together for Unity Day and in the classroom to help uplift the school community

Field of Honor® Kickoff:
Ryan McClean explained the 6th annual Field of Honor® (FOH) 
-500 US flags are setup at Spring Canyon Community Park Memorial Day weekend from May 23-25
-The FOH coincides with our Nation’s 250th and Colorado’s 150th anniversaries
-To celebrate these anniversaries, the city of Fort Collins donated a Declaration of Independence stand, flags of the branches of the military and the 26 Historic Flags that have been used since our Nation’s founding. Each flag includes a placard showing when the flag was authorized and what the flag’s design represents. 
-Funds raised provide grants for Veterans, First Responders and other local community projects
-Historically funds raised by FOH starting in 2021: $24K, $16K, $41K, $44k, $50k
-$5,700 of new rebar, benches and posts have been donated by Home Depot 
-Medallions to honor individuals (living or deceased) who made a positive impact on our lives can be purchased for $50
-Special Anniversary medallions will be available for sale this year 
-Individuals or businesses can become Community Supporters and have their name displayed on banners and materials handed out at the FOH
-3rd & 4th graders can enter an essay contest describing one of their personal heroes
-There will be many volunteer opportunities to set up and remove flags, sell medallions and sell Community Supporter sponsorships to your business associates
