Club Dues Adjustment:
Joe McCarthy announced a $15 per quarter increase in dues starting this quarter.

- Dave Haase and Tony Catania reminded Rotarians to sign up for the volunteer positions on the Peach Festival email sent Monday, July 14 and for the Peach Sale volunteer positions to be sent soon.
- Leighanne Alford encouraged Rotarians to share our Peach Sale club Facebook postings and this LINK with their email contacts to support the Book Trust and the Larimer County Dolly Parton Imagination Library
- Joe McCarthy honored Becky de la Torre with a curved serving board for her help in getting the IDEA committee up and running, for bringing Braver Angels to our club, and for connecting our club with Mujeres de Colores.
- Chuck Rutenberg said keep an eye out for an email to sign up for two volunteer opportunities at Mejeres de Colores associated with their backpack program. Mark your calendars - Saturday Aug 2nd and Saturday Aug 9th. More info to follow.

Good News:
Catherine Varra-Nelson indicated she and Lee had breakfast with their 22-year-old grandson who has recovered well from his May 30 vehicle accident in a canal.
Scholarship Recipient:
Michele Marquitz introduced scholarship recipient, Lilian McMorrow who received a $6,000 scholarship.
- Lilly was the cheerleader captain who graduated from Poudre HS graduated this year with interests in math and psychology
- She will be attending Colorado University using her math skills in Computer Science and/or Engineering
Program:
Molly Skold introduced Kate Miller, Animal Trainer and Volunteer Coordinator, Human-Animal Bond in Colorado (HABIC) at CSU.
- Kate introduced her companion, Leopold the Third, a mix-breed one year-old service canine in training
- When Leopold is trained, he will serve people with disabilities in California
- Kate shared stories about nonverbal people responding to service dogs
- Service dogs can be utilized at preschools, nursing homes, birthday parties, and end of life experiences
- Service dogs need to be friendly but not over friendly, unresponsive to loud noises or someone stepping on their tail
- Kate educates trainers in a 12-week class on how to handle service dogs
- Trainers are expected to volunteer 6 times a year with a service dog
- Any dog can be a service dog however Golden Retrievers are the best candidates
- Cats can be more trainable than dogs with the proper positive motivation
