BRF Capital Campaign
Andy Chaffin recognized John Caroll for his donation at the Charlie Peterson Level to help increase our club’s foundation to $845,000.
Good News:
- Vic Purdy has a new granddaughter
- John Caroll’s son, Ben graduated and is employed on an oil rig off the coast of Texas protecting endangered species
- Gary Turner visited his son in Idaho to watch his grandson play 5th grade football however his grandson was not feeling well
- Diane Knight was warned by her grandson not to embarrass him at his soccer match. When she encouraged him after making a goal, and he repeated his embarrassing comment, the referee replied, “That’s not embarrassing, that’s love in Action.”

Wilton Lyles introduced Kristen Mohr, Community Health Educator and Joe Dunn, Blood Donor Recruiter with UCHealth Garth Englund Blood Center. Wilton has in interest in promoting the donation of blood in the community as he once received 4 pints of blood.
- All blood types are valuable, and your donation helps to save lives within your community.
- There are blood donation sites in Greeley, Ft. Collins and Loveland and 3 mobile busses
- Platelet donations are used for cancer patients
- Plasma is used for burn patients
- Therapeutic phlebotomy is offered for patients with too many red blood cells
- How to prepare for a blood donation:
Rest: Be sure to get a good night’s sleep and schedule before or after several hours after exercising.
Hydrate: Drink water, juice or sports drinks 24 hours before donating. Avoid drinking alcohol, caffeine, energy drinks before.
Eat well: Avoid eating fatty foods and increase iron-rich foods between donations to maintain proper iron levels
-You may not donate blood if you are on a blood thinner, but baby aspirin is OK
